Festivals & Events Come enjoy the sweetest time of the year! The Lanark and District Maple Producers Association will be hosting the 3rd Annual Maple Weekend on April 1 and 2, 2017, from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Join us at a participating Maple Weekend sugar bush and explore how maple products are produced, from tree to table. A list of participating Maple Weekend maple syrup producers is available on the Maple Weekend website, along with further details about specials and activities for visitors. Activities range from pancake breakfasts to sugar bush trail adventures, sugar making demonstrations, taffy on snow, horse-drawn sleigh-rides and more! Taste why pure Ontario maple syrup has long been a favourite springtime treat and share in the fun of the sweetest time of the year!

Enjoy a guided hike along the South Algonquin High Falls Trail that starts on an old road through a red pine forest and ends with a spectacular water fall that you can walk up, swim around, lie on and explore. There are plenty of glacial droppings to explore with crevasses, caves and unique flora and fauna. A delicious trail lunch will be provided to enjoy in this magical spot. This is a four hour experience from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost includes guide, trail lunch and day use fees for park. #ComeWander with us!

It's opening day at The Petawawa Heritage Village! Join us in celebrating the kick off of another season with a pancake breakfast! Breakfast include pancakes and maple syrup, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee prepared by our dedicated volunteers . After breakfast burn off some of those calories as you walk and explore the village. The Petawawa Horticultural Society will be selling Spring plants! They have an enormous selection to get your garden going last year. There will also be vendors from far and near will display their merchandise and you might just find that gift you have been looking for. Most importantly, maple syrup will be available for purchase. Something new this year. TRUNK SALE. If you want to get rid of some of your "stuff" that has been laying around the house, pack it up and sell it right out of the trunk of your car/truck. Reserve a spot in the parking lot of the Heritage Village. Reservations must be made in advance and the cost is $10.00. If you prefer to use a table they are available but must also be reserved in advance.

The Heritage Society will again be hosting the Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner! This year's proceeds will go towards the addition of a Pioneer Church to the Village. What better way to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday? The best part, there will be birthday cake!

The Tournament will be a 18 hole Shotgun Start (Four Ball Scramble) to be held at Roanoke Golf Course, 610 Biesenthal Road. Tee-off time is 12 pm. More details to follow.

This year the Chamber golf tournament welcomes a delegation from Ireland tracing their ancestry to the Balfe Family Homestead (now the location of the Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club) We will golf with lunch starting at noon. Dinner and special Balfe Homestead ceremony around 6 p.m. and then we'll enjoy the songs of the Beatles when the live band hits the stage. Registration is open for golfing - singles or teams of four. Limited number of tickets available for the homestead dinner with music. All are welcome to participate.
