Arts Tours and Routes

Get in the car for a day trip or afternoon drive that lets you admire the striking beauty of our region’s landscape and also gives you the opportunity to take in some of the region’s most creative talents. These suggested tours focus on visiting the local artists and artisans and seeing their works and creations, which are often inspired by the remarkable countryside surrounding them.

Arts Route

Explore Hastings County by way of the Arts Route. It’s a great opportunity to meet artists, tour studios and art galleries, and discover the latest arts being created in the region. As a self-guided tour, you can travel the Arts Route at your own pace and take in as many stops along the way as you please.

Heritage and Cultural Routes

Learn more about the heritage and culture of Ontario’s Highlands with one of these pre-planned, self-guided tours through the region. You can see the spectacular and historical Seven Wonders of Lanark County and eat some delicious treats as suggested on the Scarlet Maple Tour. Most routes take you through towns along the way, where it’s always possible to pick up an antique or souvenir to remember your trip by.

Heritage & antiques tours, ComfortCountry – Choose from several pre-planned tours of ComfortCountry, including a self-guided driving tour, heritage tour, family recreation tour, and antiquing tour
Seven Wonders of Lanark County – See the five-span stone bridge in Pakenham, the view from Blueberry Mountain, and the far-reaching spire of St. Peter Celestine Church, among other stops on this driving tour of Lanark County
Walking Tour of Barry’s Bay – This 4.5 kilometre walking tour takes you past historic buildings, parks, landmarks, monuments, and murals

The Arts Route directs you to artists, artisans and galleries across Hastings County. The Arts Route creates a trail of discovery to painters, potters, jewellery makers, photographers and other creative people. Come experience the art of the area.
