Carleton Place is conveniently located only 45-minutes by car from downtown Ottawa at the crossroads of Highway 7 and Highway 15 in Lanark County.
The community’s historic architecture will awe visitors, and can be experienced on a self-guided walking tour through the town. Keep your cameras close by when passing by Town Hall and other historic building sites, including The Moore House, circa 1850, and the Central Bridge, originally built in 1829.
Other in-town highlights include the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum and the Museum Garden, featuring a labyrinth garden you can walk year-round to promote healing, meditation and personal growth.
Annual festivals such as the Riverside Side Jam and Great Bridge Street Bazaar will have you tapping your feet and swaying to the sounds of local musicians. And a number of local eateries and pubs will fill your appetite and quench your thirst. In May, join us for the Wine’d Around Downtown event for wine sampling at several local restaurants, including complementary appetizers.
