Kayaking the Mississippi River

The Mississippi River has so many different personalities along its length ... from gentle flat water where you can easily travel upstream (suitable for small kayaking dogs!) to dramatic whitewater that is exciting at least, and challenging at most, depending on the season. My wildlife sightings along the river in the last year have included river otters, beavers, muskrats, deer, blue herons, flocks of Merganzers, and a sow black bear with three cubs.
