Make the most of your fall trip to Ontario’s Highlands by taking the Rural Ramble. This self-guided, free driving tour provides themed destination sites throughout the Upper Ottawa Valley for you to enjoy the best of what this region has to offer. As you drive from one location to the next on our country roads, you’ll be awed by the stunning scenery awash in the red, yellow, and orange colours of fall.
On the Rural Ramble, you can choose from one of four weekend themed tours in September and October: Adventure and Exploration, Agriculture and Food, History and Heritage, and Arts and Culture. Stops along the way will take you anywhere from hiking trails to museums; from gift stores to a maple sugar bush; from art galleries to an alpaca farm.
For more information, visit the Rural Ramble Facebook page.
A full day of rambling calls for a special dinner. Stop in at the Golden Lake Chinese Restaurant in Golden Lake for a sit-down dinner or to grab takeout on your way back to your hotel.
