For those looking to cycle a moderately challenging trail, try the Renfrew-Calabogie Old K & P Trail. Start in Renfrew and cycle to Calabogie and back in a loop that covers 55 kilometres. The trail follows the old K & P railway line and there are points along the trail to return back if you don’t want to go the full loop to Calabogie.
For a complete day trip, follow the trail down to Calabogie and remember to pack your swimsuit for a dip in Calabogie Lake or Dalhousie Lake. Stop in for a bite to eat at Calabogie Pizzeria before setting off for Renfrew again. More details on the trail are available at the Ontario Trails Council website.
Back in Renfrew, you can grab a bite to eat at 7 Star Sushi & Grill or Santa Fe Southwestern & Grill. If your muscles are sore from the day of cycling, stop in at Alternative Health Care Clinic for a massage treatment.
