An Ottawa Valley tradition, Herbfest is returning this summer for its 18th consecutive year. Herbfest is a one-day event happening on July 27 featuring gardening, herbs, cooking and healthy living. Tickets are just $4 in advance and $5 at the gate. You can also make it a family outing for the low price of $12 in advance and $15 at the gate. Why not take a peaceful guided herb walk to start off your day? This way you can work up an appetite for the much anticipated Chef Cook-off. 2014 National Whitewater Canoe and Kayak Championships

The rush of the water, adrenaline pumping and fans cheering. These are all things that will be quite frequent at this year’s National Whitewater Canoe and Kayak Championships. If you’re someone who enjoys excitement and sports, then this is the event for you. Comprising Canada’s best whitewater canoe and kayak athletes, the national championships will not disappoint. This event is held at the Madawaska Kanu Centre in the Upper Ottawa Valley and runs from August 25-29 and will feature slalom races for each of the respective sports.
